These maps are similar to those in Figures 5 and 6 of Pillepich+ (2021) and depict the inner CGM of about 130 Milky Way/M31-like galaxies from the TNG50 simulation that show one or more large-scale, coherent features of overpressurized gas that impinge into the gaseous halo. Some are similar in morphology to the Fermi/eROSITA (i.e. galactic center) bubbles in our own Milky Way. Each galaxy is shown edge-on, across 200 kpc on a side and for a limited line-of-sight depth: the thickness of the slice is 10% as large (20 kpc).
