Hello, I was wondering if there existed a function within illustris to go from scale factor (which is what the GFM stellar formation time is in) to look back time. I’m currently converting scale factor to redshift, and then redshift to look back time using astropy.cosmology but it is quite time consuming. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

You can pull a simple formula (assuming a flat cosmology) out of any textbook, or use astropy.
